How are you today? Really, how are you? Browsing these pages can be overwhelming – the unfamiliar words, the multitude of smiling faces. Those smiles can seem insulting in the face of overwhelming depression. Who do you pick? It’s okay to have questions and doubts; it’s okay to pick someone and change your mind once you meet them.
My name is Cherise (they/them) and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My mission is to provide affordable and safe counseling for those affected by trauma of any kind, and particularly for the TLGBQIA+ population.
My areas of focus are trauma, depression, PTSD, anxiety, spiritual abuse, shame, TLGBQIA+ issues, and self-esteem. I integrate post-modern, person-centered, feminist, mindfulness, EMDR, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy into my approach. I can explain more about these when we meet, if you are interested.
My goal is to create a warm and inviting presence, where you feel safe enough to be able to unpack all of the things that seem to get in your way. With my training and skills and your expertise on you, we will work together to figure out how your particular strengths and abilities can help you navigate through life with greater compassion for yourself.

"I'm Not Old Yet" Loneliness Group
This six-week group is intended for ages 50ish-70ish, for those who are looking for ways to connect with others. The co-ed group will provide psychoeducation regarding the art of building friendships and support from peers. The cost is pay-what-you-can from $1-$20 per session.
