I believe that each individual has strength and ability to meet their therapeutic goals. I have 10+ years experience working with adults and children who’ve experienced early childhood trauma. I use an attachment focus understanding that trauma in the early years has a life-long impact on health and well-being. Experience and training include play therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, family therapy, and one on one counseling. I use a cognitive behavioral approach, EMDR, motivational interviewing and therapeutic techniques to promote healing and progress towards client driven goals.
The (ACE's) Adverse Childhood Experiences study provides evidence of long-term health effects from exposure to trauma as a young child. I have had success with clients reducing symptoms related to these early experiences. I offer Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy at my barn. Horses have a unique healing power. I also offer in office sessions and Telehealth.
