Hi, I'm Cherie Concepcion. I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Yoga Therapist. I work with individuals and couples dealing with trauma, stress, infidelity, relationship challenges, and military-related issues through a somatic lens. I believe that the body is always part of the therapeutic process even when we think it is not. I typically work with people who have experienced trauma which can lead to a number of other conditions such as anxiety, depression, marital problems, family problems, identity concerns, and more.
I focus on the client's needs and reasons for seeking therapy. I view each person/couple as a whole unique individual/unit - who they are in all areas of their life, and what are all the things that have shaped them.
I decided to go back to graduate school for Counseling Psychology in 2009 to learn more about what was happening with my individual yoga clients so I could better help them. Here I am now working as a somatically oriented trauma therapist.
