DBT Skills Training Group for Teens
The focus in DBT treatment is "radical" acceptance of oneself, while learning behavioral skills specifically designed to help overcome emotional vulnerability and to build a life worth living. Research indicates that Dialectical Behavior Therapy is successful in treating out-of-control behaviors like impulsivity, suicidal ideation & attempts, self-harm, eating disorders, substance abuse & addiction. DBT considers the client's primary problem to be a combination of emotional vulnerability and an inability to regulate emotions. Ongoing "emotional dysregulation" impairs clients' functioning in personal relationships, developing coping skills, thinking clearly in stressful situations and holding onto a sense of self.

DBT Skills Training Group for Adults
Dialectical Behavior Therapy was designed for chronically suicidal and self-harming adults, and has been adapted to treat teens and adults with co-occurring; Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD and Anxiety. DBT is an evidence-based means of treating impulsivity, suicidal thought & attempts, self-harm, eating disorders and substance abuse/addiction. DBT addresses issues of emotional vulnerability and poor emotional regulation. The group's focus is on embracing “radical” acceptance of oneself, while learning and practicing healthy coping skills to help overcome emotional vulnerability, to think clearly in times of stress, and to improve relationships while creating a life worth living!
