With over 25 years of experience working with children and their families I bring a wealth of knowledge and resources to my work. My experience includes helping children improve communication and problem solving skills, cope with anxiety, and building confidence in relationships. The family work focus's on parenting and communication skills and strengthening relationships. In addition to individual and family therapy I have expertise in social skills groups for children. I help children with no formal diagnosis who experience social and behavioral challenges as well as children with learning disabilities, ADHD, and Anxiety.
Social Endeavors groups emphasize hands-on learning. By actively participating in team building activities and play, children learn to recognize their thoughts & feelings, their peers thoughts & feelings, learn to recognize expected behaviors & unexpected behaviors and modify their behaviors accordingly. We use "Social Thinking" language, CBT techniques and lots of fun!
Parental involvement is strongly encouraged. Clear goals are set with families at the beginning of therapy with ongoing monitoring of progress.
