Does anger, sadness or anxiety get in the way of your relationships, jobs or general happiness? I work with clients to process these feelings and the pain they can cause. We all carry baggage from our childhoods and pasts, worsened by the hardships we endure as adults and from the inevitable trials of daily life, but they do not define who we are. Anger is a common response to these issues but does not have to interfere with our lives. Having worked for over a decade as a first responder, I know first hand how trauma impacts us, especially in our ability to control impulses, frustration and anger. You do not need to suffer alone.
As a parent, I know how life altering it can be to bring a child into the world. For a lot of us, parenting can bring up memories, emotions and stressors that were long forgotten. It can change our relationship with our partners, family members and friends. Together we can explore how to best work through these feelings and experiences.
I believe therapy is a collaborative and evolving process where we can work together to achieve your goals. I approach each person as a unique individual and I will work with you to develop a plan that feels safe and comfortable. I want you to determine the pace of our sessions together but I will be there to gently nudge you forward.
