About
Connection with others is as enriching as it is destructive. It is what we desperately seek, yet it can also cause us the greatest harm. Healthy, authentic connection is powerfully healing and life-giving. An ideal world is one in which these types of connections occur automatically and naturally. Many of us live this way, assuming that we will naturally have authentic, healing, and life-giving relationships with our spouses, our children, our parents, family members, and so on. However, connection with others is much like taking co-ownership of a garden. The richness of our garden experience is determined by our stewardship of it.
Following the garden metaphor, it takes a willingness to learn, patience, humility, and a lot of trial and error to produce a lush garden. The same is true for relationships. Lifelong friendships, prevailing great sex with your spouse, authentic connections with your children and family members are all things that can and should be pursued and invested into.
I am a CODA and very familiar with the deaf culture. I lived in the jungle of Ecuador for 14 years helping to restore families and the local community. I have been a foster mom several times. I also served in the USAF. I am diverse and passionate about helping couples and families find their way to enjoying authentic, healing, and life-giving relationships.
