I’m Charles Graff, LCSW, and the owner of Ship Happens Counseling in New Jersey. I work with people who want to communicate more effectively, in all of life's most important relationships. Many of my clients come to therapy to strengthen what they’re already learning in couples counseling, to build better listening skills, and to find more positive ways to express themselves. I also help clients manage stress, anxiety, anger, and major life transitions, while developing healthy boundaries that actually stick.

I don't think therapy has to feel clinical. Sessions will be collaborative - you know your life best and I'll bring strategies to help us bring about real, lasting change. You'll leave sessions each week with something new to try, so you're always moving forward. Small steps lead to little wins and little wins snowball to more significant progress.

I use a strength-based, solution-focused approach, and I believe you are the expert on your own life. I use that self-expertise as our biggest resource to find clarity, build insight, and move things forward. Believing things can change is hard, but to quote my favorite film: “The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, the dawn is coming."
