About
I work with many issues and a range of clients (16 years of age and older), and specialize in trauma, substance abuse/addiction, anxiety, depression, and couples therapy. My biggest strengths are the ability to listen with empathy to clients, help them identify and clarify issues, build goals together, and develop plans that resolve those issues. We work on managing and reducing the impact of symptoms you are experiencing, but also on skill-building to empower you to overcome an issue and grow past it.
The therapies I have found clinically successful are: a) for trauma - EMDR and CPT, b) for substance abuse/addiction - Motivational Interviewing and ACT, c) for couples counseling - EFCT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy), Schema Therapy and Conflict Resolution skill building, d) for depression and/or anxiety - CBT, ACT, mindfulness practices, and RET.
My philosophy in working with clients is based on Carl Rogers "Humanistic" approach, which is to meet people where they are, collaborate with them, and help them become more present, flexible and adaptable to better deal with something problematic in their life. I also have accumulated well over 300 skill-building tools and resources to share with clients.
