About
I have more than 30 years of experience in counseling, social services, and mental health services. My mission is to create a resilient, responsible individual by adding tools to achieve goals, build relationships, and communicate effectively. My practice has a focus on Black males of all ages, helping families overcome crisis, and working with individuals. I work with clients to help them build life skills to overcome challenges (Resilience) associated with environmental traumatic stress, grief and loss, transition stagnation, and behavioral challenges from historical mistreatment.
My trauma and culture informed approach to delivering care to client employs psychoanalytic, behavioral, and motivational interviewing methods and techniques. I target internal belief systems and help clients identify strengths and values we can use to create new skills used for positive self-change that build resilient behavioral actions.
My education is supported by degrees in Leadership, clinical psychology with a focus of marriage and family, and applied clinical psychology. My working experience in higher education and elementary/middle schools , exposed the deficits facing males of color belief systems (conscious and unconscious). I help increase Resiliency of Self.
