Charis Foundation has two counseling therapeutic opportunities: 1.) Charis Counseling Wellness Center, a out patient service, is dedicated to providing non-judgmental treatment for Adults, Adolescents, Children, individuals, couples, and families. We are committed to non-biased assessment and treatment our clients, with respect to their cultural, ethnic, sexual, and religious difference, in an effort to gain insight, promote wellness and encourage healing and growth. 2.) Serenity Grace Farm is dedicated to equine therapy, Therapeutic Horseback Riding, and other horse riding activities. This works towards enhancing and improving physical, emotional, social, cognitive, behavioral and educational skills. Trail rides, party opportunities, special events for focus groups such as service groups, churches, civic organizations, and special needs are also part of the repertoire of therapeutic experiences available.
Charis has a number of specialties of which we are proud. These include: DIR Floortime treatment for families dealing with Autism, other developmental issues, and Children and adults suffering Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Additionally, providers at Charis Foundation have training and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental disorders in adults. Special interests include working with adults, teens, and children in coping with adjustment difficulties, anxiety, depression, divorce, gender-related difficulties, grief and loss, parent coaching and support, relationship issues, social skills training, spiritual concerns, split or merged family situations, stage of life transitions, stress-management, and trauma exposure.
Charis has a growing staff which includes a licensed psychologist, Social worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Counselors, Certified Therapeutic Horseback Instructor, and other equine specialists. Plus, we are networked with other experience specialists in Psychiatry, Vocational Therapists, etc. Additionally, because Charis Foundation Inc. is 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving in the Wake Forest and Raleigh areas for over 25 years, we are committed to working not only with those who are insured and/or able to pay for service out of pocket, but also those dealing with the stress of the lack of such resources. We have carefully selected and skilled interns that are more than capable of responding to such circumstances and needs. Our interns are supported and supervised by the Charis counseling team, thus providing services of which we are proud.
