I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to serving women, youth and young adults since 1996. I am passionate about supporting clients through their emotional challenges and working together with them in gaining psychosocial skills that can improve their lives. I have committed a vast majority of my career working with youth from poor urban communities struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual identity and managing unhealthy behaviors. I thrive on creating strong, positive therapeutic relationships where young people feel safe, heard, understood and accepted.
My counseling style is rooted in the Positive Youth Development framework, which recognizes the potential of each young person and focuses on their strengths and assets; builds skills, confidence, and emotional resilience.
My style also aims to help individuals identify and challenge negative thoughts and emotions; and replace them with healthy and positive ones.
