I am Dr. Chanel Young-Pope, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. Additionally, I am a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a former United States Army Officer, with a combined 24 years of military service. My passion is helping women, adults, veterans, and seniors address their unique challenges, including work-life balance, burnout, depression, anxiety, complex grief, trauma, relationship issues, adjustment difficulties, phase-of-life concerns, and major life transitions.
I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University’s Professional School of Psychology, an “en passant” Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, a second Master’s Degree in Community Clinical Psychology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Norfolk State University.
My approach to therapy incorporates multiple treatment methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and various integrative clinical techniques.
