I offer individual counseling to women who are trying to start a family, pregnant women, new moms and women already raising a family. Motherhood is filled with moments of excitement and true elation but can also raise feelings of anxiety, fear, vulnerability, doubt and depression. It is more common than you think to experience these feelings of distress during or after pregnancy. This is nothing to be ashamed of. It is not your fault.
Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are said to be the most common complication associated with childbirth and include: prenatal depression and anxiety, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety disorders (including OCD, PTSD, and Panic Disorder) and postpartum psychosis. If you are experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety, there is hope.
Deciding to start therapy is not always easy and can be a vulnerable experience. It’s normal to feel nervous about what to expect. I will guide you through the process and together we will explore what led you here. I’ve been there and it is deeply fulfilling to me to help other women find their peace again. Don”t let shame prevent you from getting help.
