The poet Rumi said: "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." This is a metaphor for therapy that I am committed to maintaining- an open field that is safe and a reprieve from our stressful conditions. I am credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), which enables me to diagnose and treat mental health issues, addiction and substance use disorders, and dual-diagnosis cases of both mental health and addiction-related matters. I work with clients of all ages 10+.
My co-therapist Beasley (pictured) allows for animal-assisted therapy in-office. I'm also inclined to incorporate music, art, and creativity into session whenever helpful in addition to talking when desired. I use an integrative approach where I'll tailor appropriate therapeutic interventions to fit the uniqueness of the client.
I aim to provide a supportive environment in which the client and I work on their goals collaboratively. It is important to me that each client is authentically respected with regards to their personal beliefs, cultural background, and every aspect of their identity.
