Perhaps confusion of the past, the unknown of the future, or inability to make sense of what is happening now led you here. One thing you should know is that, so often, people enter my office weathering one of their largest storms to date. Or maybe, it’s not their largest storm, but a battle continuously claiming defeat. It’s exhausting; life can absolutely be exhausting. Walking through those doors, meeting someone you don’t know, and sharing your life story with them can also be unsettling. I will do my best to help you feel comfortable and at ease throughout the duration of your counseling journey.
One of my core beliefs is that no two people are the same, not even identical twins, or siblings who have lost a parent, or parents who have lost a child, or even those who share the same diagnosis. Due to genetics and separate experiences, no one can truly understand what you are going through. After all, it is your reality; it is your truth.
I will listen and show you that you are heard by offering compassion, non-judgmental space, and empathy. My hope is that together, we can identify your thoughts, patterns, behaviors, what’s working, and what’s not. And together, facilitate new pathways to a more fulfilling, healthy, and satisfying life.
