I have been a counselor for over 20 years. I am licensed in TN & NC. All of the care that I provide is via telehealth. I believe each of us needs support and guidance from time to time in our lives. Life can be difficult and it can be beneficial to sit down and talk to someone who isn't emotionally involved in our story. Fresh ideas and insight can give us hope when we feel hopeless about our current life situation. I work with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, life changes, family of origin issues, grief and stress management. I work with adolescents and adults.

Dr. Leventhal's goal is to assist others to achieve their goals for therapy. Anxiety, depression, grief and loss, whatever your personal circumstance- life is often complicated and sometimes difficult. She enjoys working with clients who are seeking to improve their current circumstances, whatever they may be, and to see their own true potential. She is openminded, compassionate, empathic, and very personable.

I began my career working in inpatient substance abuse facilities attached to hospitals. I am well-versed in groups for addiction and prefer individual counseling for issues in later recovery or dual diagnosis. I see adults and motivated adolescents in my practice. Both men and women are welcome as are couples and families. Other specialty areas are sexual abuse and mood disorders.

My goal is to help people identify problem areas and the personal strengths that are available to begin to address those problems. I also focus on helping people improve communication and relationship skills as a part of problem-solving. I treat individuals and couples dealing with depression, anxiety, grief/loss issues, substance abuse, communication and relationship problems, women's issues, adjustment problems, parenting, spiritual issues. Choices, we all have them. Sometimes life gives us more than we can handle. Sometimes we need help going trough choices we have to make. Sometimes we need help navigating past choices or choices of others. I help clients to experience a safe environment to explore your life choices and challenges without judgement. Together we can explore the challenging areas in life and distress you are experiencing to customize an individual approach to treatment. I use a holistic, whole person approach with the goal of restoring your body, mind, and soul.

I enjoy all of my clients and am competent to treat any mental or emotional disorder. I work primarily with adults. I do DBT groups for both professional women and women on disability. I am passionate about EMDR therapy and I train in TN, AL, GA, TX, KY and Washington D. C. also use Rapid Resolution Therapy with Clinical Hypnosis for a variety of issues including but not limited to traumatic events, addictions, stopping smoking and decreasing chronic pain. I do relationship counseling, parent education life coaching, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, grief and loss counseling, anger management, personality testing and EMDR.
