I approach mental health and personality from a holistic perspective. I consider multiple variables when working with clients including mental health, medical history, nutrition, exercise and environment. I would describe my theoretical orientation as eclectic. Eclecticism incorporates therapies from a number of different sources ranging from cognitive-behavioral approaches to alternative treatments such as mindfulness training and meditation. The therapeutic techniques that I use vary from client to client because what works for one person may not work for another. Moreover, I often use more than one therapeutic method depending on my clients' needs.

I am casual and tattooed, and that tends to work for most people... even if it's vastly different from how people picture a typical 'therapist'. I feel very privileged to work with members of the LGBTQ+ community and believe I offer a unique perspective as a trans man (that also happens to be a therapist). I really enjoy providing support to folks while they explore components of their authentic identities. I am comfortable working with folks that identify with being poly and/or kinky (No shaming here!).

We all come to therapy to improve our quality of life. I appreciate working with indivudals and couples that are motivated for change and insight. I have experience working with Veterans and really enjoy managing with the stressors of deployment. I also appreciate the struggle of transitioning back to civillian life and creating a new sense of balance. Being from a military family myself really helps me to understand the nuances of this process. There are so many challenges we face as humans, and I am ready to help those who show up with a desire to create a life worth living.

I have been a counselor for over 20 years. I am licensed in TN & NC. All of the care that I provide is via telehealth. I believe each of us needs support and guidance from time to time in our lives. Life can be difficult and it can be beneficial to sit down and talk to someone who isn't emotionally involved in our story. Fresh ideas and insight can give us hope when we feel hopeless about our current life situation. I work with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, life changes, family of origin issues, grief and stress management. I work with adolescents and adults.
