About
Are you experiencing anxiety, having difficulty concentrating due to fear, upsetting thoughts, or unwelcomed physical (somatic) sensations? Are you taken by surprise with Intense and disturbing emotional reactions that seem out of place with the present situation? Do relationships trigger responses that you regret or feel out of control in expressing? These responses are the result of trauma - whether developmental trauma (trauma due to painful and/or abusive experiences in childhood) or trauma that is a result of a specific incident. To learn more go to DrGildeaPsychotherapy.org.
Sensorimotor psychotherapy is a somatic approach that addresses the symptoms of unresolved trauma using somatic experiences as the gateway to long held trauma in the body. Trauma, whether developmental or acute trauma, gets stored in sensory perceptions, posture and movement, as well as emotions and thoughts - all difficult to process when only using words.
Together, we will follow your body’s natural drive to heal, integrate past trauma, repair attachment wounds and celebrate this life that is now yours. This work is my passion because i see the freedom of self being liberated. I would love to share it with you. You are welcome to call for a free 20 minute phone or zoom consultation. Why not?
