I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A). I have worked with both combat veterans and first responders in a trauma informed group practice for the past six and a half years. I have clinical experience counseling adolescents and adults on a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and a variety of personality disorders to include Borderline (BPD) and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). I have been trained in teaching DBT skills training and EMDR. I also utilize CBT & Solution-focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
As a trauma-informed counselor I assist clients in learning effective coping strategies and grounding techniques. I also provide Interventions and modalities used to help the client process their trauma with cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
For client that find themselves struggling with regulating their emotions, relating well with others, struggling with intrusive thoughts, anxiety and/or depression. I would say to them that I am here to help deliver evidence-based practices to bring my clients the relief that they desire from those feelings and thoughts.
