In my work, I offer that to my clients, as we collaborate in developing an understanding of your emotional states and how they drive your thoughts and actions. We’ll learn together what you need to strengthen and grow. My work with children and adolescents informs my understanding of development over the life span, and how those relationships and experiences that shape us are alive in the present moment.
I have advanced training in play therapy and parent-child therapy for caregivers and their infants or young children, as well as in psychoanalytic psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, and children. I am also a Board-approved supervisor in Maryland and can provide supervision in DC for LGPCs, as well as consultation for other therapists.

Groups
Supervision group for LGSWs and LGPCs (Virtual)
This group uses reflective supervision to guide you through professional and clinical challenges to help you become the therapist you want to be. Co-led with Raquel Willerman, LCSW, pre-licensed professionals in VA, DC and MD (for LGSWs) and in DC (for LGPCs) can earn hours toward licensure while learning more about psychodynamic principles, anti-oppressive frameworks, and case formulation. Together, Cathy and Raquel have expertise in working with individuals, couples, families, children and groups.
