Anger Management
This is a combined support and education group. Tweens and teens are welcome. There will be an adult group as well. Participants will learn various anger management skills. Moreover, there will be support in being with other members who have the same concern - how to control their anger. Role plays and other creative teaching skills will be utilized to help individuals and group participants to learn to use new strategies and techniques to manage anger.
Preventing Substance Use
This is an education and support group for parents of tweens and teens. The focus will be on how to prevent substance use as well as how to identify beginning use of various substances (cigarettes,alcohol and drugs) and recognize abnormal behavior.
Relapse Prevention
This is a support and education group for parents of tweens/teens with substance abuse issues. The focus of this group will be on the warning signs for impending relapse as well as the identification of the ways parents can help their pre-teens/teens, when they do relapse.
