I am a licensed psychologist with almost 30 years of experience. Although I have experience working with children, teens, couples, and families, I am currently limiting my practice to individual adults. I generally work mostly from both a humanistic and cognitive behavioral approach. I find that who we are as individuals, and how we feel about ourselves is a critical components of how we are able to cope. How we think about things, events, others, ourselves, and what we do, shapes our experiences.
I believe it's extremely important to provide a supportive and therapeutic environment to assist my clients as they face and overcome life's challenges. My goal is to deeply understand my client's perspective, so I will both listen and ask questions. I may provide education, and suggest strategies, tools or recommendations to assist clients on their journey.
There is almost nothing as rewarding and humbling to me than witnessing someone grow or heal. I feel honored and privileged to be trusted with someone's most personal thoughts and to do this work. I will ask why my client is coming to therapy and what they hope to achieve. Then we discuss strategies for how to reach those goals.
