I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 35 years providing services to children, adolescents and adults which are individualized , adaptive, and strength based . I have an integrative approach , using modalities in which I have received extensive training : EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Hypnotherapy, all of which incorporate a trauma informed dimension. In addition, I received a Post Graduate Certification in Addiction: Evaluation and Treatment from Boston University. Woven through my work is my meditation practice ( Vipassana) of 20 years.
I work all the time with relationship issues, profound grief, loss and change and life transitions, but I specialize in childhood trauma and how it can manifest in laterlife in limiting and painful ways, wounds that scar but remain unhealed. Psychotherapy can be enormously helpful in facilitating a healing process, in a “safe enough ”context.
Childhood trauma can also manifest in the development of debilitating and demoralizing addictive processes. My goal is to identify entry points into the complexity that addiction can present in order to understand, treat and heal .
