Catherine Penn Williams
Licensed Professional Counselor, MA, LPC
Carl Jung said, "The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are." Many of my clients come to therapy reporting problems with depression, anxiety, troublesome relationships, or grieving a recent loss. Our work often includes a review of life history-including the influences of family of origin, culture, ethnicity, religion and place-as well as the client's current life circumstances. The client and I work together to create a safe setting and use those presenting symptoms as stepping stones for the client achieve a more authentically lived and fulfilling life.
I blend a Jungian depth psychology approach with 35+ years of experience with family systems and addictions recovery to help clients resolve the challenges of daily living and examine the larger questions of what gives one's life meaning.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I utilize cognitive behavioral strategies as well as the depth approaches of dreamwork, active imagination and expressive arts in my work with clients.
