Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) are the mental health professionals specifically trained to work from a systems perspective while focusing on both the internal/personal and the inter-relational dynamics. For me it's all about appreciating the capacity in each person to live a vital Self-led life....integrating emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.
This aproach is known to work well with individuals, couples, families and organizations. It helps establish an enjoyable, collaborative partnership between therapist and client. Ease of well-being, a sense of your true self and better relationships are the rewards.
I work specifically with the Internal Family Systems Model (www.selfleadership.org) This approach offers a clear, non-pathologizing, empowering understanding of human issues. The IFS model helps release the inherent compassion, curiosity and creativity that lie beneath the protective parts of people so as to bring open-hearted healing to them and to their relationships.
