About
My approach to therapy is psychodynamic. I view the therapuetic process as a collaborative and empathic relationship of communication, exploration, reflection and insight. I believe it is the therapuetic relationship itself that is most important in creating the conditions for the deep exploratory work of psychotherapy and the possibility of change. The three goals of therapy are understanding, acceptance and change, where one is now, and what one is ready for could differ over time. We will begin where ever you are, clarify issues and establish goals. I hope I have an opportunity to meet and work with you.
I am a seasoned generalist with experience in a variety of settings, including a community mental health center, two group practices, and a solo practice before Katrina. The next 13 years I worked exclusively with active duty military and family members, and recently retuned to New Orleans to re-establish a private practice.
I believe the past informs our present. The therapeutic relationship we build will help us explore and identify your strengths, challenges, obstacles, and patterns. The insight you gain through our work together can lead you to a greater sense of ease and well-being.
