I address a range of concerns with clients including depression, anxiety, relationships, addiction and trauma. I believe that therapy offers the unique opportunity to work on your relationship with yourself, which consequently improves your relationships with others. I guide clients towards a deeper self-awareness and greater emotional resiliency. In my work, I emphasize the importance of self-compassion and taking a mindful stance towards your thoughts and emotions. When we are able to approach our internal life with curiosity and compassion, life is much easier to navigate, and strong emotion states won't overwhelm us.
A specialty in my practice is working with issues of trauma and abuse (sexual, physical, emotional, psychological). These concerns are approached with the utmost care and consideration, and in a collaborative and respectful manner. I am trained in EMDR and often incorporate this modality into my work with clients to address specific trauma memories.
Inviting the trained mind of a competent therapist to bear witness to your most personal thoughts and feelings, offer back reflections and insight, is a vulnerable and brave act. We all have blind spots in the way we relate to ourselves and others, and therapy provides an important space to consider what is keeping us stuck.
