I am a licensed professional clinical counselor in Lexington, KY specializing in adult women’s mental health. I work with anxiety disorders, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, mood disorders (including depression), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and perinatal mental health disorders. I use a trauma informed lens and feminist theory to examine the impact of systematic oppression towards women and women identifying persons in order to empower clients to heal and create positive change in their life.
Working with me might be different than your experience with most therapists, as I encourage positive change and self-empowerment through skill use with techniques such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other mindfulness-based cognitive therapies.
Each client sets their own goals to work toward the changes they want in their life. Examples include: reducing anxiety related to past traumatic experiences by using coping skills and setting boundaries with friends and family. My goal is to provide a safe and empowering space for each client to explore and process emotions to encourage hope and healing.
