My name is Cathy Alix, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in San Bernardino, CA. I have a total of 14 years of experience and have been licensed since September 2016. For the last several years I have worked with a forensic population providing individual therapy. I am a very person-centered psychotherapist. I enjoy allowing the patient to determine therapeutic content while I do my best to meet them at their point of need while helping them to formulate their goals.
I have worked with a myriad of mental illnesses from Depression and Anxiety to Bipolar d/o and Schizophrenia. Some of the more serious mental illnesses require medication management. But I also enjoy working with patients who want to discuss their issues and who simply need help in finding a resolution.
My communication style is open and easy. I am very person-centered, and I try my best to meet my patients at their point of need. I am also both empathic and curious. After all, the session is about you, and it is my goal to get to know you by creating an environment that is comfortable, nurturing, and non-threatening.
