Catharine Asay, MA, MS, LMHC, NCC, MHP, Counselor in Spokane
I believe that every person has the potential for positive growth. Making the decision to enter into therapy is a step toward healthy self-care. My approach to therapy is holistic, collaborative, and outcome oriented. I hope that the time you choose to invest in your therapy and in our work together will help you to realize that you are not alone in your journey. Providing compassion, connection, and attentive listening to my clients are cornerstones of my practice. I implement evidence-based practices, while carefully considering the unique perspectives and experiences each individual brings to treatment.
I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the State of Washington and a nationally certified counselor (NCC). Prior to entering private practice, I was a school counselor in the Spokane Public School District. Most recently, I worked as a mental health therapist/case manager at Lutheran Community Services.
I have experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma (including domestic violence, war-related trauma, refugee issues, sexual assault, abuse), relationship difficulties, school-related issues, parenting challenges, & Autism Spectrum Disorders, in addition to other mental health challenges and personal issues. I also offer support and education for families of mentally ill individuals.
