With 40 years of experience, I offer psychotherapeutic services to individuals who are experiencing relationship difficulties, phase-of-life issues, grief, depression, and/or anxiety disorders. My style is relational, collaborative and strengths-based. Having been formally trained in psychoanalysis, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and trauma specific approaches, I tend to view current psychological challenges as providing renewed opportunities for growth and development, toward the achievement of a richer, more vital, and fully-engaged life.
In addition to my experience as a psychotherapist, I have over 20 years of experience as a university educator, having taught clinical practice courses both at Columbia University and Binghamton University. I am also available to provide individual and/or group clinical supervision.
In 2008 I authored a book published by LearningExpress, Inc., "Becoming a Caseworker." Additionally, I have published over 15 articles and essays in academic journals and professional periodicals. My current area of scholarship includes the application of attachment theory to improve affect regulation, self-reflection, and self-soothing capacities in adults.
