Hey Folx, I’m Cash (They/Them), a transgender nonbinary counselor. I like to meet humans where they are and provide a counseling space that feels consensual and cocreated with the client. Often, I work with transgender teens, and adults, who are struggling with identity formation, self-harm, or stress from living in a transphobic world. I also work with humans of all ages, sexual orientations, races, genders, and disabilities. We will go over what your unique identities are and how they interact with the ecosystems of the world we live in (white supremacy, capitalism, patriarchy, etc), that impact mental health in a big way.
I work with people with complex trauma and help them feel safer in their bodies. Trauma can make the body a very uncomfortable place and often times people will dissociate, or fade from the present moment, in order to handle the discomfort. I will help you learn ways to stay more present so that you can have a better connection between your mind and body.
I use EMDR, a trauma reprocessing technique, to help folx metabolize their traumatic memories which aids in a better quality of life. If you are interested, I use body work, mindfulness, meditation, and breath work to help with mind body connection that alleviates uncomfortable body symptoms that trauma leaves behind.
