My approach to counseling is collaborative in nature. While I have training and experience with counseling modalities and mental health, you are the expert on your own life. By working together, I hope to help you achieve your goals and cultivate positive coping skills. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for creative self-exploration, to address particular diagnoses such as anxiety and depression, and to provide support in navigating difficult situations.
I have experience providing individual and group counseling across several settings, including: a wellness program for older adults; a college campus; an inpatient hospitalization program; and a residential treatment facility. I have training in crisis response, interpersonal neurobiology, cognitive behavioral therapy, and feedback informed treatment.
I especially enjoy working with clients around the ages of 12-30. As a former high school English teacher, I pursued a career in counseling so that I could positively affect the lives of young people in a more holistic way. My work is intentionally intersectional, and I view my role as a counselor as a unique opportunity to empower and to advocate.
