I focus on later adolescence through early adulthood, roughly, ages 18 to 35. This stretch of life is full of transitions. While exciting, it can be harder than expected. We can get stuck under the rubble of our families, past experiences, and bad habits. It may feel like we can't change how we are feeling today, but don't worry, you already have all the tools you'll need to get through.
As a therapist, I like to explore a life through family history, personal experience, and beliefs we have about the world and ourselves. It is important to identify strengths and values, look at difficult events, and believe in the power to steer our own lives.
As we move into adulthood, we can look back a decade or two and try to make sense of all the things that got us here. What has been helpful? What has hurt me? What do I change? What do I want? You know you best. I want to listen to your version of the story and make sense of the time you've spent here on Earth.
