Welcome! Let's jump right to it- I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Registered Art Therapist℠. My approach to eating disorder treatment focuses on looking at the whole person including, culture, race, medical issues, psychiatric issues, and other mental health concerns. Eating disorders rarely happen in a vacuum. I have training and practice working with families through the Maudsley approach of Family Based Therapy and practice working with individuals through Enhanced Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT-E).
Beyond these more systematic approaches to treatment I pull from different modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Gestalt, and harm reduction. As a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist℠, I incorporate the healing properties of art making into my practice as well and utilize the Expressive Therapies Continuum (ETC) to inform my art therapy practice.
My approach to eating disorder treatment also focuses on removing systemic barriers that prevent access to treatment and challenging traditionally racist and eurocentric ideologies to health and medical/mental health treatment. I am Health at Every Size aligned and anti diet.
