Hey There! Welcome! My name is Carvel Seepersad. I am a Licensed Associate Counselor. I obtained my Master’s from Walden University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2014. I received my Play Therapy Certificate from Capella University in 2017. I have worked in the substance abuse population with adults ranging in ages and stages. I have worked with adolescents and children with mental health diagnoses including ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and with Behavioral challenges.
My theoretical orientation is Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, created by Albert Ellis, and focuses on irrational beliefs and negative thoughts and how it leads to emotional and behavioral concerns.
This approach allows individuals to self-reflect on their “junk” in order to enhance their well-being by creating a positive and healthier lifestyle for themselves. I utilize the Nurtured Heart Approach ®, Play Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy to support children and adolescents in working through their challenges so they can find their GREATNESS!
