I believe that difficult childhood experiences can create ingrained patterns of thoughts and behaviors that cause us to feel stuck as we move through life. Part of my job is to help you process these and other experiences in a safe, reflective, and courageous way. When we are able to face difficult emotions and experiences in the caring presence of another person, we begin to integrate the painful parts of our lives into a more cohesive, dynamic, and grounded self. As we learn to connect with ourselves more wholly, we can then begin to connect with others more authentically as well.
My approach to counseling is centered on the client. You are the expert in your own life and my job is to come alongside you in the process of healing, self-discovery, and growth. I am empathic, gentle, and relationship-oriented, with a belief that the connection between my clients and me is one of the main agents of change and healing.
