Carrie uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma and Emotion Focus Therapy (EFT) and Gottman practices for marriage counseling along with practical experiences from her 40 years of marriage.
EMDR resolves trauma reactions and negative thought processes using dual attention stimulation to access the maladaptive memory network that has improperly stored information in the brain, allowing new, adaptive information to be processed, resulting in reduced hypervigilance, anxiety, and negative thoughts.
