I have many years of experience in the field of counseling. I have worked in several inpatient treatment facilities including The Meadows and Shades of Hope. I have also worked for Indian Health Services in various tribal nations which contributed to my knowledge and cultural competence. The therapy issues that I work with most effectively are Addictions, PTSD, Eating Disorders, Codependence, Relationship Issues, Depression and Anxiety. I understand that it takes a great deal of courage to reach out and trust someone to be your guide through a difficult time. Please know, that my approach is a collaborative to achieve your goal(s).
I have a strong creative nature and believe that each person has a unique way of processing information and feelings. My approach is non-judgmental, accepting your experience and reality. I find creative ways to use your own processing tools. I draw from many counseling skills, including CBT, Trauma Informed and Experiential Processes.
I like the book title, "Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway". That has become my mantra in working through my own issues. It's perfectly normal to feel hesitant in seeking help. It means that you will be vulnerable. Vulnerability does not equate to weakness, it equates to strength and courage. I am ready to walk that journey with you.
