Carrie Heller, MSW, LCSW, RPT, invites you to the Circus Arts Institute (CAI) where she conducts Circus Arts Therapy® (CAT) sessions for individuals, families and groups. Carrie created and runs the research based Circus Arts Therapy® fitness and play therapy program. The CAT group will benefit children and teens who need extra support in areas of:​​ Social Thinking and teamwork, Motor Control including balance, coordination and flexibility; Impulse Control, Sensory Processing Differences, Emotional Regulation, Learning Differences, Self-Esteem, Body Image, Managing Anxiety, Managing Frustration, and Fear of Heights .
This program combines the learning of developmentally appropriate social skills with the learning of circus arts in a safe, fun & sensory friendly environment. The unique blend of physical & mental exercises makes CAT appropriate for children and teens with a lack of motivation to exercise; as well as children with SPD, ADD, ADHD, Anxiety, Autism & more.

Circus Arts Therapy® Groups

Circus Arts Therapy® (CAT) is a unique play therapy tool focusing on circus activities. Our program provides a safe, cooperative environment where participants learn fun and unique circus skills and experience "Therapy in Action." Our therapy programs are taught by a team of instructors, which includes Carrie Heller, MSW, LCSW, RPT, and adult circus professionals. Groups are offered Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3:25pm, and 4:35pm for ages 5-8, 8-11 and 12-18. Circus Skills learned include Low Trapeze, soft rope climbing with tricks, Hammocks, Low tight wire walking, Balance Boards, Crossing the Midline exercises including Juggling and other ground & aerial equipment.
