Announcement icon Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am only doing teletherapy appointments at this time. Email is the best way to reach me.
Life can be difficult to navigate at times but it does not have to stay that way. I offer clients a safe, nurturing environment to discover their strengths, explore possibilities, and heal past hurts. Although talk therapy can be beneficial, sometimes words may be too difficult to articulate or may not be adequate to heal your pain. When this is the case I use relational, somatic-informed, brain aware approaches that incorporate mindfulness, dream and expressive art techniques designed to enable you to release pain safely and identify words to give healing expression to your suffering.
I am a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a Certified Trauma Specialist, hold a Trauma-Informed Art Therapy Level One Certificate and have additional training in yoga therapy, spiritual direction, somatic/brain based therapies, parts work, Eastern Therapeutic techniques, dream therapy and have degrees in communications, theology, and social work.
I have taught Masters level counseling classes at GVSU and have authored an award winning book based on my research with survivors of clergy sexual assault. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, working out, studying neuroscience and the latest research on trauma and dissociation.
