I've been a counseling pastor since 1993 and in private practice since 2016. I use person-centered, spiritual direction, and coaching methodologies. I am a board-certified chaplain with many years of experience helping people going through medical crises and losses. My practice includes work with families raising special-needs children and families experiencing adoption-related challenges. My practice also involves supporting clients whose loved ones are fighting substance abuse or other addictions, including families impacted by incarceration. I also serve gay and queer people, as well as their family members and allies.
My clients are from various racial groups, including couples in mixed-race relationships and mixed racial clients working on stronger family connections and positive identify formation. My own religious background is progressive Christian. My clients include people of all faiths and no faiths, and Christians of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
Spiritual direction and prayer is available and appropriate when requested though never imposed. I provide a judgement-free space in which all clients, religious or not, can discuss their experiences and explore their choices. If you would like to talk about any of your concerns, I will listen and gladly assist you in setting goals and in achieving them.
