Hello, I am Carolyn Schowengerdt, a Licensed Psychologist. I think of therapy as a path to growth, and a happier, more fulfilling life. I always spend time getting to know my client, what their world and daily life look like. The better I can understand their strengths, weaknesses, and desires of what they want to achieve in therapy the better I can help them to achieve what they want they want to achieve in therapy. My holistic approach definitely treats body and mind, I use therapeutic homework almost weekly.
My interactions with each client are on an equal playing field, person to person, respectful of each person's perspective, journey, and self-esteem, and neither client nor therapist is greater than or lesser than the other. I listen carefully to what my clients say, the language they use to express themselves and pay attention to their body language.
I pay attention to what my clients want to achieve in therapy. I help them to set goals and objectives that will help them get to what they want.
