Sometimes life's challenges seem overwhelming and the ability to make changes a daunting task. You may feel the weight of anxiety or depression without knowing exactly why. If you are stuck or struggling, I would like to provide support. My goal as a therapist is to help you examine how you've come to think, feel, and act the way you do. It's also to assist you in changing unhelpful patterns so you can better handle stress, improve relationships and make sound choices. My first step is to establish a trusting, caring relationship and safe space for this work to happen. To that end, you'll find I'm a nonjudgmental, empathic listener.
I utilize a holistic approach, drawing from my Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work and advanced training such as trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. I often incorporate mindfulness, art, and writing exercises as creative means of expressing thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to verbalize.
I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. It is then, you can start revising parts of your personal narrative as needed. I know it can be hard to make that initial call, but I am here to listen if you are ready to talk.
