It does take courage to set up that first appointment, and the fit between therapist and client is an important one for the success of therapy. I encourage my clients to ask questions and express concerns about therapy and determine whether my approach and style are a good fit for you. Some common reasons people seek therapy have to do with self-exploration, how to communicate better with people, and how to cope with stressful life situations. My approach is a collaborative one and goal oriented. My focus is to support you find healthier coping skills to manage the challenging situations life might bring.
Some of my strengths is working with maternal mental health, parenting, domestic violence, self-empowerment and acculturation. I enjoy working with issues related to parenting and the challenges that come with it, on a personal, marital and family level and help parents build strong and healthy relationships with their children.
I am fluent in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Bulgarian. I believe, that my cultural background has prepared me to provide culturally sensitive services to families with diverse cultural backgrounds and needs.
