To date, my clients (male and female) have come from different backgrounds, ethnicities and faiths, and ranged in age from 14 to 76. They came to counseling for PTSD issues, childhood traumas, bereavement, adjustment to new circumstances, relationship issues (including infidelity), anger and different types of losses.
I am particularly interested in working with older clients, women and men above the age of 50, Christians and those of other faiths or no faith. Having lived and worked in Zimbabwe, UK, and USA I would love to support people dealing with grief, life transitions and migrant clients and their families.
I have used different interventions: CBT, ACT, DBT have all been beneficial along with aspects of Narrative Therapy. My approach is integrative (using interventions from different approaches and theories) and I also support clients using trauma-informed care. I would love to work with groups: psychoeducation, grief, forgiveness, parenting etc.
When we have a toothache, we go to the dentist and when in physical pain we see our doctor. We are complex beings with different domains which all work together. When one is unwell, it affects all the others. We need to attend to our mental health needs just like we do financial, spiritual, physical, relational health. I am here to listen and support you.
