My work is devoted to helping college students and adults achieve the fulfilling lives they aspire to. My clients struggle with different issues, including:
-worries and anxiety;
-being overwhelmed by stress and not knowing how to find peace;
-depression and low self-esteem;
-work problems;
-grief;
-problems with relationships and intimacy;
-seeking meaning in their lives; and
-a desire for spirituality and creativity.
Since it's usually so hard to change our habitual ways of doing things and it takes courage, my work encourages humor and teaches self-compassion. What I offer to others is the opportunity to learn to love themselves.
My counseling work involves empathic listening, and at times, teaching more effective coping, relationship, and/or stress-management skills. I support my clients in developing lifestyles with time dedicated to self-care and nurturing.
Recently my practice has drawn members of the clergy and other helping professions. Other groups are midlife and older women, wanting to explore how to create the life and relationships that they desire.
