My primary goal is to help clients find the hope and courage to change and heal. I believe that all life circumstances, relationships, and experiences can lead to change and greater self-acceptance. Ultimately therapy helps clients cope with loss and use difficult life transitions to promote growth. In working with individuals, couples, families, and children, I have helped them cultivate resources and develop strengths from very challenging diagnoses and life circumstances. I have helped clients suffering from relationship conflicts, health crises, depression, trauma and loss issues, compulsive behaviors, and anxiety disorders.
In addition to my broad-based training in psychological assessment and psychotherapy, I have training in CBT, EMDR, biofeedback, sleep, meditation, hypnotherapy, learning disorders, autism spectrum disorders, attachment therapy, mindfulness, and trauma/loss therapy. I also use movies, TV, books, and pop culture as metaphors in my work with clients.
I have completed Caroline Myss' two-year CMED training, which incorporates mind-body-spirit principles for healing and emphasizes the use of Archetypes to understand symbolic meanings running through all life events and relationships. I have a warm interpersonal clinical style and utilize interventions from many therapeutic orientations and models.
