Groups
From the Screen to the Treatment Room

Movies are an under-used teaching modality, yet they offer a powerful way to understand our stories, our narratives, our complexes and psychological issues. The characters and relationships that film presents are visceral and graphic, and weave themselves into our personal and collective unconscious. The symbolic nature of film allows you, the viewer, to project yourself into the raw details of the story. In this group, you experience films as the catalyst to awaken awareness and reveal insights that often manifest as change in your life. Course subjects: Survivor Guilt, Sociopathy/Narcissistic Personality Disorders. Format: Film clips shown, discussion follows.

Guided Imagery: Focus on Healing. zoom group

fMRI research shows images are the brain's "coding mechanism" and Guided Imagery activates the body's healing function. If your work demands creative solutions, if you're searching for new directions or managing a health issue, this workshop will guide you to what was once hidden. First, through meditation, an image may emerge, and begin to manifest. You'll experience the connectedness of your thoughts, emotions and body. Next, the sharing with others, called "witnessing", creates opportunities for new insights. We'll be gentle and allow for surprises. I have over 30 years working with and teaching guided imagery.

Focused Mind Imagery "Play-Shop"

What are employers seeking in their employees? IMAGINATION! CREATIVITY! Come to this "play-shop" with an open mind, seeking not answers, but imagination and a sense of aliveness! First, you will be led in a guided meditation. Perhaps an dream image will emerge, or a fleeting thought- fragment and you will "carry it forward" in what is called "active imagination", an interplay of the conscious and unconscious. You might draw or write what emerges. Next, will come the sharing with others: "witnessing". We will be open, allow for surprises and become acquainted with our once- hidden, deepest creativity and wisdom.
